Hi.

I like to make things.

Looperette Design Ideas

Just like her older sister Looper, the Looperette quilt pattern is modular, meaning you can arrange the blocks any way you want to create your own custom design! The pattern comes with mini coloring blocks you can use to experiment and plan your Looperette. (Download more here.)

(The Looperette pattern is available in the Miss Make Shop.)

Here are some design ideas to get your creative juices flowing. Each one includes a breakdown of the blocks needed.

This one is 5x5 blocks. With each block finishing at 12.25” square, that makes this quilt 61.25” square.

This one is 3x4 blocks, so 36.75” x 49”. This would be a great baby quilt!

This one takes the main layout included in the pattern and just stretches it out a little. It’s 4x4 blocks/49” x 49”.

Gettin loopy! This one would be fun as a racetrack play mat. It’s 3x4 blocks/36.75” x 49”. (The B with the asterisk is a modified Block B, instructions for which you can find on the last page of the PDF/booklet.)

If you love curves, this one’s for you! 4x4 blocks/49” square.

You can also have a lot of creative fun by playing with the fabric placement too, especially if you go off book just a little bit. For instance, use different background colors to extend your gradient:

For sometime different, use the same fabric for Fabrics 1, 3, and 5, and the background fabric for Fabrics 2 and 4:

OR use another color for Fabrics 2 and 4:

OR OR use different colors in each block for Fabric 2 and 4 for this fun colorblock effect. This was a happy accident whilst fooling around in Illustrator!

As you can see, there are a ton of fun ways you can be creative with Looperette. It’s a pattern you can make over and over again, in any size and design to suit your needs and feelings. Check out #looperettequilt on Instagram over the coming days and weeks to see everyone’s interpretations! (Pattern is available in the Miss Make Shop.)
