ANNOUNCING THE LOOPER QUILTALONG

Are you ready to make your very own Looper Quilt? On August 6th we’ll be kicking off a quiltalong filled with tutorials and lots of extra information to guide you through every step, and by the end you’ll have a finished Looper quilt top! Each week there will be a new blog post detailing the (very manageable!) tasks for that week.

There will also be fun weekly prizes you can win just by showing your progress on social media! We will be kicking it off with a gift certificate to Fancy Tiger Crafts, and the grand finale prize…drumroll…will be longarm quilting by the amazing Kaitlyn of Knot and Thread Design!! Kaitlyn has generously offered to give a lucky winner complimentary quilting on a throw size Looper (or you can apply the same amount of credit to a larger quilt). Kaitlyn quilted the queen size Looper sample (below) and she does amazing work! In between those two awesome prizes there will be others, I can’t wait to reveal them each week.

The very first post will be about choosing fabric for your Looper. Then there will be two weeks until we actually start cutting, so if you’ve been struggling to narrow your fabric choices down, you’ll still have time to order/shop for fabric after the first post and have it arrive in time. Sewalong posts will all publish on Tuesdays because Mondays are already hard. Here is the schedule breakdown:

WEEK 1 / Aug 6th: Choosing Fabric

WEEK 2 / Aug 12th: Prep & Gather Supplies

WEEK 3 / Aug 19th: Cutting

WEEK 4 / Aug 26th: Sew Curved Blocks

WEEK 5 / Sept 2nd: Sew Straight Blocks

WEEK 6 / Sept 9th: Assemble Top

You can choose any size Looper to make for the sewalong, I’ll address all sizes as we go.
