W.I.P. (Work in Progress) - Tea Towel Quilt

Hootie just enjoyed a lounge on my first ever quilted quilt. I made a small quilt one time for a school project, but I just tied it instead of actually quilting it. Today I just finished quilting this one using a sewing machine equipped with a free motion foot. I brought it home to find some fabric to use as a binding, and Hootie took the opportunity to test its cat-bed capacity. It seemed to satisfy him.

More details when I finish!

  1. Devon! That's wonderful! You did a great job. I like how you placed your tea towel stripey fabrics. Are you feeling more comfortable with the foot?
Did you know that cats and quilts automatically go together? Cookie has to test every one that I make!
    Great job!!!!!!! ;)

  2. I just found your photo online and love the combination of colours from the towels. I have recently discovered the joy of making denim rag quilts and am thinking I'd like to combine the two (old jeans and tea towels) and see what I can come up with.

  3. sue, i think denim would go great! it has the same slightly distressed look.

link me to pics when you finish! :]
